How to use Indoor Rowing Pace and Power Calculator
- Enter distance in metres and exactly one of elapsed time, split per 500 m or average watts. Leave the other two cells empty.
- Review the derived time, split and watts together. Use the same stated indoor-rower convention for all scenarios.
- Download CSV for rows, JSON to continue editing later, or PDF for a printable copy. Review exports before sharing them.
Example: Indoor Rowing Pace and Power Calculator
Convert a two-minute-five-second split to average watts.
Options
- Input direction
- Time, split or watts can supply the scenario. A 2:05 split produces 179.2 W, and 179.2 W gives the same split.
- Time notation
- Use mm:ss, h:mm:ss or seconds; tenths are accepted. Distance is metres and split is per 500 m.

The equipment relationship has a named scope
Watts are 2.80 divided by the cube of seconds per metre. A 2:05 split for 500 m is 125/500 = 0.25 seconds per metre, giving 179.2 W. The inverse uses the cube root of 2.80 divided by watts. These are Concept2 rower calculations, not a physiological power measurement or the BikeErg distance convention.
Questions about Indoor Rowing Pace and Power Calculator
Can I use this for BikeErg?
No. This page applies the stated indoor-rower relationship and 500-metre split convention.
Does average watts estimate calories or fitness?
No. Neither calorie expenditure nor a fitness or technique assessment is calculated.
Why are scenarios displayed together?
A table lets you compare the entered distance, time, split and power assumptions rather than treating a single pace as a training target.
