Supported inputs and limits

Up to 20,000 input characters and 1–100 names, one per line with an optional pipe-separated subtitle. Each name and subtitle is limited to 80 characters. Choose A4 or US Letter and a 2 by 4 or 3 by 5 grid. Standard WinAnsi fonts wrap to at most two lines per field, reducing text to a minimum of 8 pt or refusing it when it cannot fit. Sheets have 28 pt margins and 10 pt gaps. These grids do not claim alignment with a particular label product; verify actual-size printing.

Check one physical sheet first

A PDF's page dimensions are fixed, but printer margins and scaling can change the physical output. Print a small sample at actual size, measure the boxes and check the longest name. Keep the remaining sheets unprinted until that sample fits your intended use.

Questions about Printable Name Tag and Badge Maker

Does the grid match a commercial label sheet?

These are the stated printable grid layouts. They are not a guarantee of alignment with an unnamed label product; compare the dimensions with your paper or holders.

What happens to a long name?

Text wraps within its measured badge box. A name that exceeds the supported line or font coverage limits is refused rather than printed outside the box.

Can I add a role under the name?

Use the optional subtitle on that line. The name and subtitle have separate fit limits so a long role does not silently collide with the next badge.

Why do printed badge sizes look different?

A printer's Fit or Scale setting can resize the PDF. Use actual-size printing and test the sheet against the holder or cutting plan.
