How to use Job Application Tracker

  1. Enter one application per tab-separated row using the named columns.
  2. Check dates, status labels and any empty follow-up or notes cells.
  3. Create the tracker and review the company and role beside each status.
  4. Save CSV for later editing or download the PDF as a printable record.

You add
One six-cell tab-separated row: Example Co; Analyst; 2026-09-01; Applied; 2026-09-08; Replace with your own notes. These are sample details.
You get
The table contains that one record with its dates in the named columns. job-application-tracker.csv and job-application-tracker.pdf contain the entered sample details.

Supported inputs and limits

Up to 50,000 characters and 200 six-cell tab-separated rows: company, role, applied date, status, follow-up date and notes. Company and role are each limited to 120 characters, notes to 240. Allowed statuses are Applied, Interview, Offer, Rejected and Withdrawn. Dates must be real YYYY-MM-DD dates; follow-up and notes may be empty while their separators remain. Spreadsheet formula-leading cells are prefixed with an apostrophe in CSV. PDF text uses measured wrapping and standard WinAnsi fonts; unsupported characters or rows that cannot fit are refused. Dates do not create reminders or an online account.

Preparing rows that survive export

Use a tab between each of the six cells, not a comma or a vertical bar. Keep the applied date in its own column and use an empty follow-up cell when no reminder is planned. Review each row in the result table before exporting, especially after copying text from a spreadsheet where pasted tabs may be invisible.

Keep the tracker separate from applications themselves

This sheet records information you enter. It does not send applications, query employers, schedule notifications or preserve your records automatically. Download the CSV when you need an editable copy, and keep private notes out of a PDF you intend to share. A status is your record of progress, not confirmation from the employer.

Questions about Job Application Tracker

Will it send follow-up reminders?

Follow-up dates appear in your exported records. The page does not schedule notifications, contact employers or submit applications.

Can I leave notes or a follow-up date empty?

Keep the column separators in place around an empty cell. This avoids moving a status or note into the wrong column.

How do I update a status later?

Keep your original tab-separated rows or a spreadsheet copy. Edit the relevant entry and paste six tab-separated cells again; the page does not import CSV files or sync a job-search account.

Does the PDF include information about real vacancies?

It contains the facts you entered. No vacancy feed, application outcome or employer information is added automatically.
