Target 17 to 64 clues. A run can keep more to preserve one solution or stay within the search budget. Fewer clues take longer.

Clue target
The target controls clue removal. Uniqueness takes priority, so a bounded run may retain more clues than requested.
Solution check
A generated puzzle is accepted only after the solver finds exactly one completion under standard Sudoku rules.

Supported inputs and limits

Standard finite Sudoku grid and bounded generation/solver checks. No human difficulty certification, arbitrary variants or guarantee of every requested clue count. Standard 9 by 9 Sudoku. Optional answers download in a separate PDF; the result also displays answers on screen. Puzzles: 1–5. Clues to keep: 17–64. PDF text uses the supported built-in font character set; unsupported characters are refused rather than silently replaced.

Clue count is not a human difficulty rating

The number of givens alone does not establish how difficult a puzzle feels. This page checks the completion count, not a named human solving technique or a graded difficulty system. Keep the answer sheet separate when sharing a worksheet.
