How to use Monophonic Pitch and Tuner Analyzer
- Choose a mono WAV with one sustained note at a time.
- Set your A4 reference and minimum periodicity confidence.
- Analyze the recording and separate accepted estimates from weak or ambiguous frames.
Example: Monophonic Pitch and Tuner Analyzer
Check a reference A note.
Options
- A4 reference
- This is the comparison frequency for the A4 note. Changing it shifts the note and cents comparison without changing the recording.
- Minimum periodicity confidence
- Raising the threshold rejects more uncertain frames. It cannot make chords or ambiguous harmonics into reliable monophonic estimates.

Where your input is processed
This tool processes your input in this browser. Your text and files are not uploaded to UseFreeTools. Check this tool's limits for anything it may save on your device.
Cents compare the signal with your reference
A cents value describes distance from the closest equal-tempered note under the selected A4 reference. Changing that reference changes the comparison, even when the recorded frequency stays the same. It does not retune or rewrite the source recording.
Confidence is part of the result
Periodicity alone cannot prove the intended musical note. Harmonics and changing notes can make estimates ambiguous. Review rejected frames and use a clear sustained passage rather than averaging everything into an apparently precise tuning claim.
Questions about Monophonic Pitch and Tuner Analyzer
Can it identify all notes in a chord?
No. It is designed for a single periodic note in mono audio.
Does a rejected frame mean the note is out of tune?
No. It means this analysis did not accept a reliable single-note estimate for that frame.
