    Options

    Frame selection
Numbers start at one. Enter the supported list or range syntax; leaving the supported selection empty follows the stated default policy.
    Native decoder
The browser must provide GIF ImageDecoder support. Composited frame appearance follows its palette, transparency and disposal behavior.

    Supported inputs and limits

One GIF up to 12 MiB, 100 frames and 16 megapixels of total decoded frame pixels. Frame numbers start at one. Requires native ImageDecoder GIF support. Palette/disposal/transparency output follows the browser decoder; no animation editing or re-encoding.

    Where your input is processed

This tool processes your input in this browser. Your text and files are not uploaded to UseFreeTools. Check this tool's limits for anything it may save on your device.

    Extracted frames are static images

Each selected PNG is a composed frame, not an editable animation. Keep the original GIF if delay timing or loop behavior matters. Unsupported decoding is reported clearly rather than replaced with a guessed still image.

    Questions about GIF Frame Extractor

Do frame numbers start at zero?

No. The first frame is 1.

Can this extract every GIF on every browser?

No. It requires native GIF ImageDecoder support and the stated size/frame bounds.

    Is the result still animated?

No. Each download is a still PNG frame.
