JPEG images only, up to 20 in one run. Every JPEG is converted to the same format.

    PNG output ignores this setting.

JPEG cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels use this color. Use a hex value such as #ffffff.

How to use JPG to PNG

    1. Add up to 20 JPG files to the list. Every file in one run is converted to the same format.
    2. Leave Convert to on PNG, which is where this page opens. The same list still offers JPEG and WebP for a file that needs one of those instead.
    3. Select Convert, then download the PNG file, or the ZIP when you added several.

    Example: JPG to PNG

A phone photo that has to be delivered in a PNG container for a system that rejects JPEG.

    You add
holiday.jpg, 4032 by 3024 pixels. Convert to PNG.
    You get
holiday.png at 4032 by 3024 pixels, reported with the JPEG size and the PNG size. The picture keeps the detail the JPEG still holds; blockiness from the earlier JPEG save stays as it is.

    Options

    Convert to
The page opens on PNG because that is the container this page is for. The engine behind it can also write JPEG and WebP, so change the list only when a file genuinely needs one of those.
    Quality for JPEG and WebP
PNG output ignores this setting completely, so it does nothing while the target stays on PNG. It applies only to the JPEG and WebP targets.

    Supported inputs and limits

Input formatJPEG files only; PNG or WebP is refused
Batch sizeUp to 20 images per run
Per image12 MiB each, 40 megapixels each, 20 MiB total
PNG is lossless, so a JPG photo usually grows when it becomes PNG, and the result line reports both sizes before you keep anything. This page accepts JPEG files only: a PNG or WebP is refused with a message instead of being converted, and the file picker offers JPEG files on its own. A run accepts up to 20 images, 12 MiB each, 20 MiB in total and 40 megapixels per image. Converting cannot bring back detail that JPEG already discarded, and PNG is the wrong target when you simply wanted a smaller file.

    Where your input is processed

When a PNG container is worth the extra bytes

The container decides what a file can hold, not how much detail it has. Choose PNG when a program or a workflow demands PNG, when the picture will be edited and saved repeatedly, or when transparency has to be added later. Choose JPEG or WebP when the priority is a small file for a photograph. Turning a photo into PNG only for its own sake trades storage space for no visible gain.

    Questions about JPG to PNG

Will converting JPG to PNG improve the photo?

No. PNG keeps every pixel that survived the JPEG save and it cannot recover the detail JPEG discarded. Open the download and compare it with the original before you rely on it.

Why is the PNG bigger than the JPG I started with?

JPEG discards detail to keep files small and PNG does not, so a lossless container for a photograph carries more data. Keep the JPG when size matters and use PNG only when something requires that container.

Does the quality control change anything here?

No. PNG output ignores it, so it has no effect while Convert to stays on PNG. It applies to the JPEG and WebP targets only.

Can the PNG come out with a transparent background?

No. A JPEG carries no alpha data, so the converted PNG is fully opaque. Transparency has to be added later in an editor that can write it.

Can I convert a PNG or WebP on this page?

No. This page reads JPEG files only, and it refuses the other two formats rather than converting them. Use the Image Format Converter when the input is a PNG or WebP.
