Supported inputs and limits

Bundled CMUdict US pronunciation vocabulary, pinned to 74790861f652b15e4ac49015a90074ad62a27690; errors, omissions, names, abbreviations and sensitive terms may remain. No network lookup, spelling certification, word-game certification or pronunciation audio. The local dictionary loads only on Run; 124,926 spellings and 133,971 retained readings. One ASCII word/apostrophe spelling, 1–50 characters, present in the bundled dictionary. Output 1–100 results. Exact uses phonemes from the last stressed vowel; if no stress is marked, the last vowel. Stress digits are removed for matching. Alternate readings are considered. Near allows at most one phoneme insertion, deletion or substitution. Exact endings sort first, then alphabetical spelling; this is not a poetic or dialect verdict. Source word excluded. Scan up to 140,000 entries with progress/cancellation and a 20-second deadline. No semantic rhyme, dialect selection, audio, syllable filters or rhyme quality score.

Questions about Rhyme Finder

Can words rhyme even when their endings look different?

Yes. The lookup compares recorded phonemes rather than spelling endings.

Are near rhymes guaranteed to sound right?

No. They are a phoneme-distance heuristic and need your judgment.

Which accent does the dataset use?

It focuses on North American English; other dialects and names can differ.
