Supported inputs and limits

Up to 80 input characters and 240 output columns. Supported ASCII letters, digits and listed punctuation only; unsupported characters are refused. The original bitmap font is not a full font converter. Use a monospace display and preserve spaces when copying.

Where your input is processed

This tool processes your input in this browser. Your text and files are not uploaded to UseFreeTools. Check this tool's limits for anything it may save on your device.

Copied spaces are part of the drawing

An application that collapses spaces can change the banner. Paste it into a code block or another monospace area and inspect the line lengths. Unsupported characters are refused instead of replaced by guessed glyphs.

Questions about ASCII Banner Text Generator

Can I use arbitrary Unicode text?

No. The page accepts only the characters present in its documented original bitmap alphabet.

Why does the banner look wrong in another app?

A proportional font or collapsed spaces changes alignment. Use a monospace text view.

What does the outline style change?

It keeps the perimeter of each filled glyph rather than simply changing the character used to draw it.
