Options

Search
Search a name, the character itself or a supported hexadecimal code point. Results come from the bundled 98-character selection.
Selected text
Picking a symbol appends its exact character to the editable text. Invisible characters need their displayed names and code points checked before copying.

Supported inputs and limits

This is a curated 98-character subset of Unicode 17.0.0, not a complete Unicode browser. Invisible characters display their names and code points. Fonts can render the same character differently or show a missing glyph. A symbol does not establish a currency conversion or semantic meaning in every context.

Where your input is processed

This tool processes your input in this browser. Your text and files are not uploaded to UseFreeTools. Check this tool's limits for anything it may save on your device.

Check the character after pasting

A copied character can look different in another font or application. A missing glyph does not mean the character changed. Use the code point to identify it, and keep invisible symbols out of identifiers unless the destination expects them.

Questions about Special Character and Symbol Picker

Why does a selected symbol look different in another app?

The code point stays the same, but the receiving font and application decide how to draw it.

How can I identify an invisible selection?

Its picker entry shows a readable name and code point. Check those before appending a space, joiner or formatting character.

Does the picker download Unicode data when I search?

The selected Unicode 17.0.0 records are bundled with this page. Searching and selection use that local snapshot.
