How to use Annotate PDF
- Choose a PDF and enter the annotation objects for its visible pages.
- Check page numbers, coordinate percentages, color and the properties required for each type.
- Create the copy, reopen it and check the placement; the underlying content is still present.

Draw a box on a sample page.
Options
- Visual annotations
- Each object names a page and a type: highlight, box, arrow or text. Coordinates are percentages from the visible page top-left, including its crop and rotation.
- Position and size
- Boxes use x, y, width and height. Arrows use x, y, x2 and y2. Text uses x, y, text and size in PDF points. A mark or note extending outside the visible page is refused.
Supported inputs and limits
Where your input is processed
This tool processes your input in this browser. Your text and files are not uploaded to UseFreeTools. Check this tool's limits for anything it may save on your device.
Visible marks leave underlying content intact
A highlight or box adds drawing instructions to a page. It does not delete the text or image underneath and is not a redaction. The downloaded marks are flattened drawings rather than editable PDF comments. Use a redaction workflow when the task is removing information.
Check coordinates on the downloaded page
Percentages adapt to the visible page size, while text size remains in points. A mark can cover the wrong passage even when its coordinates are valid. Reopen the result, check each targeted page and retain the original if you need an unmarked version.

Can I move the marks in another PDF editor?
These additions become page graphics rather than editable annotation objects.
