Supported inputs and limits

A single entered threshold and multiplier of at least one. Hours share one reporting period. Daily rules, multiple pay rates, exemptions, premiums, deductions and legal entitlement are not determined. Enter plain decimals with at most 64 characters, 25 digits and 12 fractional places. Monetary inputs are limited to 10^12. Very small or large nonzero amounts use scientific notation. Use one currency throughout; no exchange rates, taxes or fees are added unless you enter them.

Where your input is processed

This tool processes your input in this browser. Your text and files are not uploaded to UseFreeTools. Check this tool's limits for anything it may save on your device.

One threshold per calculation

Regular hours are the smaller of total hours and the threshold. Remaining hours receive the base rate multiplied by the entered overtime factor.

Questions about Overtime Pay Calculator

Does the default threshold apply to my job?

It is an editable example. Enter the rule that applies to your own calculation rather than treating a default as a legal requirement.

Can I use a daily period?

Yes, if total hours and the threshold both refer to that same period. The tool does not combine daily and weekly overtime rules.

Is the result take-home pay?

No. It is gross pay under the entered rule, before tax or other deductions.
