How to use Inductance Converter
- Enter a nonnegative inductance value.
- Choose the input and output henry scales.
- Convert and copy the equivalent value with its prefix.
Example: Inductance Converter
Convert a microhenry value.
Options
- Inductance prefix
- Select the full source and result units. Microhenries, millihenries and henries differ by powers of 1,000.
- Decimal places
- A millihenry or microhenry value becomes a small fraction in henries. Use the 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 output-place control without mistaking a rounded zero for zero inductance.

A unit result is not a component model
Dividing 470 µH by 1000 gives 0.47 mH. The converter scales a supplied value without deriving inductance from a coil or accounting for frequency-dependent measurement conditions.
Questions about Inductance Converter
Will this tell me an inductor’s impedance?
No. Inductive reactance also depends on frequency, and a real component has other behavior. This page changes units only.
Are mH and µH interchangeable labels?
They have different scales. One millihenry equals one thousand microhenries.
Does the converted value include tolerance?
No. It is the equivalent of the value you enter. Keep the component’s tolerance separately.
