How to use Dice Roller
- Choose the die type and how many dice to roll.
- Add a whole-number modifier if the rules call for one, or choose to drop the lowest die.
- Select Roll dice. Read each face and the final total; copy the roll if you need a record.
Example: Dice Roller
Roll two six-sided dice with a small bonus added to their sum.
Options
- Dice type and count
- Choose d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 or d100, then roll 1 to 50 dice of that same type. Every listed face stays within its die's range.
- Modifier and drop lowest
- The modifier, from -100 to 100, is added after the roll. Drop lowest removes one lowest face from the total but keeps that face visible in the result.
- Sound and full screen
- Sound starts off. Full screen and wake lock work only where the browser permits them; their absence does not change the dice result.
Supported inputs and limits
Where your input is processed
This tool processes your input in this browser. Your text and files are not uploaded to UseFreeTools. Check this tool's limits for anything it may save on your device.
A bounded virtual roll
Each face is picked within the selected die's range from the browser's secure random source. The tool discards values that would bias a simple remainder calculation, then applies the arithmetic options after the faces are chosen. Sound and full screen are presentation controls; neither changes the numbers.
Questions about Dice Roller
How is the total calculated?
The tool adds the shown faces, removes one lowest face if you selected that option, then adds your modifier. It shows the faces separately so you can check the arithmetic.
Can I roll two different die types together?
No. A run uses one chosen type for every die. Roll the types separately and combine the displayed totals yourself if your rules require mixed dice.
What does Drop the lowest die do?
It leaves one lowest face out of the sum but still lists that die. If two dice tie for lowest, only one is dropped. The modifier is added after that step.
