How to use Browser Video to WebM
- Choose one local video whose full duration is comfortably below the 20-second output limit.
- Run the conversion with the page visible; the browser decodes and re-records the clip.
- Play the generated WebM and check its beginning, ending and any audio before downloading.

Supported inputs and limits
Where your input is processed
This tool processes your input in this browser. Your text and files are not uploaded to UseFreeTools. Check this tool's limits for anything it may save on your device.
Conversion depends on the browser decoder
The accepted filename extensions identify possible containers, not a promise that every codec inside them can play. A supported MP4 may decode while another MP4 with an unsupported codec fails. A file that cannot be decoded or whose track layout falls outside the limits is refused instead of producing a silent or empty substitute.
Re-recording changes the file
This tool plays the decoded frames into the browser encoder. It does not copy the original compressed stream, preserve all metadata or create an MP4 download. Check the measured duration and sound because playback delays can affect the result. Keep the tab visible and leave room below the maximum duration for those delays.
