How to use Writing Editor
- Paste a draft, up to 10,000 characters, and choose the type of edit.
- For a tone edit, describe the reader and the tone you want.
- Select Edit writing, complete browser verification and compare the result with your original.
Example: Writing Editor
Make the verb agreement consistent while keeping the draft’s facts.
Options
- Edit mode
- Grammar focuses on errors. Rewrite changes phrasing, simplify reduces sentence difficulty, and tone adjusts how the draft addresses its reader.
- Tone note
- A short direction such as polite and direct helps a tone edit. It is context for the task, rather than permission to add facts.
Supported inputs and limits
- Source text is limited to 10,000 characters and the combined form to 12,000.
- The editor can change meaning or miss an error.
- Change notes must quote the source exactly, but that check does not prove the revised sentence is accurate.
- Keep names, amounts and commitments under review.
Where your input is processed
Your input is uploaded to this site and sent to a configured AI provider. If a provider fails, the request may be sent to the next eligible provider. Check its result before use. Private inputs and results expire within one hour and are excluded from site backups; temporary files are removed by scheduled cleanup. Provider retention rules may differ. Avoid submitting passwords or highly sensitive information.
Choose the smallest edit that solves the problem
A grammar pass is useful when the facts and structure are already settled. A rewrite suits a paragraph whose point is hard to follow, while simplification helps a reader who needs shorter sentences or less specialist language. Read the revised paragraph in context: a sentence that looks clearer on its own may remove a qualification from the preceding paragraph. Source-linked notes help you locate the relevant passage; they are a review aid, rather than a complete redline.
Questions about Writing Editor
Does the editor show every change?
No. It returns a revised draft and a bounded list of change notes. Compare both versions yourself when exact wording matters, especially for contracts, technical instructions and quotations.
Can it keep my writing style?
Use grammar mode for a smaller intervention, or describe the tone you want. A rewrite may change sentence structure and voice, so keep the original available.
Is this a plagiarism checker?
It does not search published material or measure originality. Use it to revise your own text and check any borrowed language against its source.
