How to use Essay Feedback
- Paste Essay text and the actual Rubric when available. The review uses the supplied criteria rather than assuming an assignment’s rules.
- Add Study level or audience if it changes the explanation or terminology the reader needs.
- Select Review essay and complete browser verification when prompted. Compare each quoted passage with its comment and Suggested revision.
- Work through Revision priorities before polishing sentences. Check any proposed source or example yourself; the tool provides feedback rather than a replacement essay or a verified grade.
Example: Essay Feedback
Identify a claim that needs support.
Options
- Rubric
- Paste the actual criteria if you have them. The review can then address those criteria rather than infer what the assignment expects.
- Level or audience
- A short note such as undergraduate history or a general reader helps frame comments about explanation and terminology.
Supported inputs and limits
- Essay text allows 10,000 characters, Rubric 1,500 and Study level or audience 100, within a 12,000-character combined cap.
- Returned feedback contains 1 to 10 items tied to exact essay excerpts; strengths and revision priorities may be empty when none is justified.
- Passage checks establish where the quoted words occur.
- They do not verify external references, detect plagiarism, establish authorship, guarantee a grade or submit work to an institution.
- Keep the original draft and judge whether a proposed revision supports the argument you intended.
Where your input is processed
Your input is uploaded to this site and sent to a configured AI provider. If a provider fails, the request may be sent to the next eligible provider. Check its result before use. Private inputs and results expire within one hour and are excluded from site backups; temporary files are removed by scheduled cleanup. Provider retention rules may differ. Avoid submitting passwords or highly sensitive information.
Revise the argument before polishing sentences
Start with the thesis and the relationship between each paragraph and that thesis. A sentence can be grammatically tidy while its evidence does not support the claim. Review the larger issues first, then check transitions and wording. Where feedback proposes an example or source, treat that as a research task rather than a verified fact. Save a copy of your draft so you can assess whether a revision strengthens the argument you intended to make.
Questions about Essay Feedback
Will it rewrite the whole essay?
The purpose is feedback on the argument, organization and clarity. Use the writing editor for a separate wording revision after deciding which substantive changes you want.
Can it check my citations?
It can flag apparent gaps or inconsistent wording in pasted material. It does not retrieve the cited source or confirm that a quotation or reference is genuine.
Can I use this for assessed work?
Follow your institution's rules on AI assistance. Keep responsibility for the research and writing, and disclose assistance when the assignment requires it.
