How to use RSS Feed Builder

  1. Enter the channel title, website link and description.
  2. Add article rows with links and optional UTC dates.
  3. Download the XML and test it in your intended feed reader.

Example: RSS Feed Builder

Create one dated update in a small RSS feed.

You add
Feed title: Example updates; Website URL: https://example.com/; Feed description: Sample website updates. Entries CSV: title, url, date, description First update,https://example.com/first,2026-01-05T09:00:00Z,Sample entry.
You get
The RSS 2.0 XML has one channel and one item titled First update. Its item link is https://example.com/first and its publication date represents 5 January 2026 at 09:00 UTC.

Options

Website URL
This identifies the website for the channel. Item URLs identify individual entries. The builder validates entered addresses but does not fetch either destination.
Entries (CSV)
Use exactly title, url, date, description as the CSV header. Keep four cells per row, quote embedded commas and enter a supported UTC date or leave that date cell empty.

Supported inputs and limits

Up to 200 entries. Items use title, url, date, description columns with explicit UTC ISO dates or blank dates. Text is XML-escaped. No fetching, hosting, publication, subscription management or guarantee that every reader supports the feed. Entry input up to 100,000 characters, title 300 and cell 2,000 characters. Dated entries use years 1900–9999.

Where your input is processed

This tool processes your input in this browser. Your text and files are not uploaded to UseFreeTools. Check this tool's limits for anything it may save on your device.

Building a feed is different from publishing it

The download is an XML file assembled from your rows. It does not crawl articles, host an endpoint or keep future posts synchronized. Place it using your own publishing workflow and test the served file in the readers you expect to use. An RSS filename on your device is not a subscribed live feed.

Keep item data explicit

Titles and descriptions are entered plain text and are XML-escaped. A missing date is omitted rather than guessed from the URL. Confirm that each item link refers to the intended published article; syntactically accepted URLs and dates do not prove that the article exists or was published at that time.

Questions about RSS Feed Builder

Does this publish the feed?

No. Upload the downloaded XML through your own hosting workflow.

Are article pages fetched?

No. The file uses only your entered rows.

Can I leave item dates blank?

Yes. Blank dates are omitted; entered dates must use the supported UTC format.
