A plain number such as 2500 or 1.6e-3. A negative value is read as charge of the opposite sign.

How to use Electric Charge Converter

  1. Enter a charge value.
  2. Choose its source and destination units.
  3. Convert and copy the charge result with the unit.

Example: Electric Charge Converter

Convert one ampere-hour.

You add
Value: 1. From: Ah. To: C.
You get
1 Ah = 3600 C.

Options

Charge units
Ampere-hours express charge. They are not watt-hours, and a battery voltage is not inferred by this unit converter.
Decimal places
A small charge expressed in coulombs can round to zero. Select 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 displayed places rather than interpreting that rounded display as no charge.

Supported inputs and limits

Charge units only. Ampere-hours are not watt-hours. Voltage, discharge behavior and battery operating conditions are outside this conversion. Values accept at most 64 characters, 40 significant digits, 20 fractional places and magnitude 10¹⁸. Scientific notation has at most two exponent digits. Display rounding offers 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 decimal places; small nonzero results stay visible.

Ampere-hours do not specify energy

One ampere sustained for one hour corresponds to 3600 coulombs because an hour contains 3600 seconds. A charge conversion alone cannot tell you usable battery energy, runtime or charging efficiency.

Questions about Electric Charge Converter

Why is one ampere-hour 3600 coulombs?

An ampere is a coulomb per second and an hour has 3600 seconds. Multiplying current by time gives charge.

Can I compare battery energy using mAh?

A charge rating alone does not state energy. Voltage and operating behavior matter when comparing energy.

Does a negative charge value work?

The sign is retained. It can represent charge polarity or a signed transferred quantity under your convention.
