How to use Barcode Generator
- Choose Code 128 for text or EAN-13 or UPC-A for a product number.
- Enter the text or digits. For EAN-13 and UPC-A, you may omit the last check digit and let the tool add it.
- Choose SVG or PNG. The barcode updates as you change the fields. Download and scan-test the image at the size you plan to print.

Options
- Check digit
- EAN-13 accepts 12 data digits and UPC-A accepts 11. The tool calculates the final digit; if you supply it, the page checks it before drawing.
- Output file
- SVG keeps sharp bars when resized. PNG records a fixed pixel image. Test the actual downloaded file with the scanner and printing process you will use.

What the image proves
The image records the entered characters in a barcode pattern. EAN-13 and UPC-A include a check digit that catches many typing errors; a valid check digit does not show who owns the number. The barcode is made locally. For retail product identification, obtain numbers through the appropriate issuing process and test them with the intended scanner before printing labels.
Questions about Barcode Generator
Can this page give me an official retail product number?
No. It only draws the number you enter and checks the EAN/UPC digit. It does not assign a GS1 prefix or establish ownership of a retail identifier.
Why was my EAN or UPC number rejected?
The supplied final digit must match the checksum calculated from the preceding digits. Remove that digit to have the tool add the expected one, or correct the number.
Should I download SVG or PNG?
SVG scales without losing bar edges. PNG may be convenient for software that needs a raster image. In either case, scan-test the exported file at its final printed size.
Can Code 128 contain letters?
Yes. This page accepts printable ASCII letters, digits and punctuation in Code 128, up to 80 characters.
