Unit Test Generator
Draft unit tests for supplied code and behavior using the framework you name.
Fill in the fields, then submit when you are ready.
Result
Your result will appear here after you submit and complete verification.
How to use Unit Test Generator
- Paste the relevant code and state its expected behavior.
- Name the programming language and test framework.
- Select Draft unit tests, complete verification and review the test code and setup notes.
Example: Unit Test Generator
Draft tests for a small function with stated edge behavior.
Options
- Expected behavior
- Describe outcomes independently of the current implementation. Include an edge case or failure condition that a useful test should catch.
- Test framework
- Supply the framework and relevant version when known. Review imports, fixtures and assertion APIs against your project's actual setup.
Supported inputs and limits
- Code allows 6,000 characters and behavior 2,000.
- Returned tests are not executed by this site.
- They can have invalid syntax, incorrect expectations or weak assertions.
- Setup notes are suggestions rather than proof that dependencies are available.
Where your input is processed
Your input is uploaded to this site and sent to a configured AI provider. If a provider fails, the request may be sent to the next eligible provider. Check its result before use. Private inputs and results expire within one hour and are excluded from site backups; temporary files are removed by scheduled cleanup. Provider retention rules may differ. Avoid submitting passwords or highly sensitive information.
Write expectations that can disagree with the implementation
A test that repeats the function's own calculation may reproduce the same mistake. Supply an independently known expected value or rule, then inspect whether the generated assertion checks it. Look for missing boundary cases, unverified mocks and tests that pass without calling the relevant behavior. Keep only cases that explain what should happen and would fail for a meaningful regression.
Questions about Unit Test Generator
Does this measure test coverage?
No instrumentation or code execution takes place. A list of generated cases is not a coverage percentage.
Should I copy the tests straight into my project?
Review their expected values and dependencies first. Run them in your normal test environment and confirm they can catch the intended defect.
How are source quotes used?
A case names the code or behavior field that supports it. An exact quote makes that link inspectable without proving the assertion is correct.
