How to use Error Log Analyzer

  1. Remove credentials, personal information and unnecessary private values from the relevant Log text before submitting it. Automatic pattern masking cannot find every secret.
  2. Describe Environment context and the failure timeline without including access details. Include the first relevant error and nearby retries rather than an unrelated log dump.
  3. Select Review redacted log and complete browser verification when prompted. Compare every grouped symptom and source quote with the redacted lines shown in the result.
  4. Treat Possible cause as a hypothesis and Proposed checks as suggestions that have not been run. Verify a cause through your own controlled investigation before making a change.
  5. Download CSV for group IDs, line IDs and redacted source quotes. Use Download text or Download JSON when you also need the overview, proposed causes and investigation questions. The tool performs no remediation.

Example: Error Log Analyzer

Review a timeout followed by an exhausted retry limit.

You add
Log text: 2026-10-22 09:15:00 ERROR: Connection timed out while reading the inventory service. 2026-10-22 09:15:05 ERROR: Retry limit reached for the inventory request. Environment context: A local development example. No credentials or personal values are included.
You get
The draft groups the two symptoms, quotes their real lines and suggests checks as hypotheses. It should not claim that the underlying cause is proven.

Options

Automatic masking
Common password, token, authorization, credentialed URL and JWT patterns are masked before provider processing. Pattern matching cannot detect every secret; inspect the excerpt yourself.
Source lines
Line numbers and exact excerpts refer to the redacted text. They do not establish that the proposed diagnosis is correct.

Supported inputs and limits

  • Use up to 8,000 log characters and 1,000 context characters, including the masked result.
  • Up to 10 symptom groups are returned.
  • Dense secret fields may expand during masking and require a shorter excerpt.
  • The tool runs no code, commands, network checks or remediation.
  • Logs can contain personal and confidential data that masking does not recognize.

Where your input is processed

Your input is uploaded to this site and sent to a configured AI provider. If a provider fails, the request may be sent to the next eligible provider. Check its result before use. Private inputs and results expire within one hour and are excluded from site backups; temporary files are removed by scheduled cleanup. Provider retention rules may differ. Avoid submitting passwords or highly sensitive information.

Use a small timeline of the failure

Include the first relevant error and nearby retries or follow-up symptoms rather than a large unrelated log dump. Note the expected behavior and any recent change you can confirm. Compare each proposed cause with the cited lines, then verify it through a controlled manual check. Error messages can describe a downstream effect; keep a hypothesis separate from an established cause.

Questions about Error Log Analyzer

Will it fix the server automatically?

No. It returns a draft analysis and suggested manual checks. Nothing in the log is executed.

Are all secrets removed?

No. Common patterns are masked, but unusual keys, embedded data and personal information can remain. Remove them yourself before submission.

Why are the displayed source positions different from my raw log?

Locations refer to the redacted text actually processed. Replacing a secret changes character offsets, while physical line structure is retained.
