Up to 5,000 characters. The tool quotes the pattern as data; it never executes it.

Enter supported single-letter flags without spaces. Allowed flags vary by language; repeated and unsupported flags are refused.

Up to 2,000 characters. The snippet includes this sample but does not run the pattern against it.

How to use Regex to Code Snippet Generator

  1. Enter the pattern without slash delimiters.
  2. Choose a language and supported flags.
  3. Generate the snippet and check it in your project’s regex engine.

Example: Regex to Code Snippet Generator

Quote a JavaScript digit pattern.

You add
Regular-expression pattern: ^\w+@\w+\.com$ Target language: javascript Flags: i Example text: [email protected]
You get
JavaScript snippet generated with i flags. The pattern was not compiled or run. Regex syntax and supported features differ by language; review the pattern and target runtime.

Options

Language
Select the language that will consume the snippet. The same visible pattern can need different quoting and different supported flags in each language.
Flags
Choose only the options supported by the selected target. Refused flags need a deliberate change to the intended matching behavior rather than a copied workaround.

Supported inputs and limits

Pattern up to 5,000 characters. Languages: JavaScript, Python, PHP, Java, C#, Go, Ruby and Rust. Flags are explicitly mapped or refused for each language. The page does not execute or compile arbitrary patterns. String quoting does not make regex syntax portable: lookarounds, Unicode, named groups and matching behavior differ by engine. Review generated examples before using them.

Where your input is processed

This tool processes your input in this browser. Your text and files are not uploaded to UseFreeTools. Check this tool's limits for anything it may save on your device.

Quoting and matching are separate checks

The generated code represents the supplied pattern in a source string or literal. It does not run the pattern or establish that another engine understands its syntax. Check escaping in the actual target environment, then test matching and nonmatching examples there. Named groups, Unicode rules and lookarounds can differ even when the quoted text is correct.

Questions about Regex to Code Snippet Generator

Why are there extra backslashes?

The language string literal needs its own escaping before the regex engine sees the pattern. Those escapes belong to the source code layer.

Can every language use the same flags?

No. The generator maps only supported choices and refuses incompatible flags instead of silently dropping them.

Does a snippet prove the pattern works?

No. This page generates source text without compiling your pattern. Test it with representative inputs in the intended runtime.
