How to use Image Colour Replacement
- Choose one JPEG, PNG or WebP image.
- Enter the colour to replace and the new colour as six-digit hex values.
- Set tolerance to zero for exact RGB matches or increase it for nearby shades.
- Select Replace colour and download the PNG.
Example: Image Colour Replacement
A local worked example using the inputs and settings below for image colour replacement.
Options
- Source and replacement
- Choose the two colors explicitly. The operation replaces qualifying decoded pixels rather than recognizing an object.
- Tolerance
- Tolerance controls color distance from the source RGB value. A larger value can include neighboring colors and unintended regions.

What the tolerance means
The page compares the red, green and blue values of each pixel with your chosen source colour. At zero, all three channels must match exactly. As tolerance grows, more nearby RGB combinations qualify; that is useful for softened edges but may also reach unintended areas.
Questions about Image Colour Replacement
Why do some edges keep their old colour?
Soft edges often contain blended shades rather than an exact match. Raise tolerance gradually, then check whether other similar colours also changed.
Will it change only one object?
No. Every pixel whose RGB colour falls within the tolerance can change, wherever it appears in the image.
Does replacement alter transparency?
No. A changed pixel keeps its original alpha value. Fully transparent pixels are skipped.
