CSV up to 20 MiB; macro-free XLSX up to 20 MiB compressed, 32 MiB expanded, 1,000 parts, 20 sheets and 100,000 stored cells.

One unique, nonblank header per column. Quoted commas and line breaks are supported. Each cell may contain up to 2,000 characters.

One-based workbook order, including hidden sheets.

Example A1:D100. Blank uses the selected sheet’s stored area. First selected row becomes the CSV header. Selected formulas and merged cells are refused.

How to use CSV and XLSX Converter

    1. Choose CSV to XLSX or XLSX to CSV.
    2. Provide the table or workbook and choose the delimiter or worksheet area.
    3. Download the output and check cell values in your spreadsheet app.

    Example: CSV and XLSX Converter

Keep an account number as text while creating a workbook.

    You add
Conversion: CSV to XLSX; CSV separator: Comma; Output sheet name: Data. Paste: name, amount Alex,0012 Sam,30.50 Leave the file picker empty.
    You get
The Data worksheet contains the header and two rows as text values. 0012 retains its leading zeroes and 30.50 retains its entered decimal spelling; they are not calculated numeric cells.

    Options

    Conversion
CSV to XLSX writes one text-valued worksheet. XLSX to CSV reads a selected stored rectangle; it does not calculate formulas or preserve formatting.
    Pasted CSV
One unique, nonblank header per column. Quoted commas and line breaks are supported. Each cell may contain up to 2,000 characters.
    CSV separator
The selected separator applies to parsing or writing CSV. Choose Tab for TSV and quote values that contain the separator or line breaks.
    XLSX worksheet number
For workbook export, the number is one-based workbook order and includes hidden sheets. Verify the sheet you selected before sharing its data.
    XLSX rectangular area (optional)
A1:D100 names a rectangular area. Blank uses the stored area. The first selected row becomes the header, so choose the rectangle carefully.

    Supported inputs and limits

CSV: 20 MiB, 100,000 data rows, 500 columns and 2,000,000 cells. XLSX: 20 MiB compressed, 32 MiB expanded, 1,000 parts, 20 sheets and 100,000 stored cells. Selected rectangle at most 2,000,000 cells, 500 columns and 100,000 data rows plus a header. Formula cells and merged ranges in the selected area are refused. Values are exported as text; CSV formula protection may prefix risky values.

    Where your input is processed

Text preservation avoids guessing a cell type

CSV does not declare a numeric or date type for a field. This converter retains entered values as text in the workbook rather than guessing that an identifier is a number. You can convert selected cells in your spreadsheet later if arithmetic is required. Check identifiers, empty cells and quoted line breaks after opening the actual download.

A selected workbook area has strict refusal rules

Formula cells and merged ranges inside the chosen export area are refused. CSV cannot preserve their workbook behaviour or styling, and this tool does not evaluate them. Formula protection can prefix exported strings that begin with risky characters. Inspect the CSV before importing it into another spreadsheet or an application that expects exact raw text.

Questions about CSV and XLSX Converter

    Are formulas recalculated?

No. Formula cells in the selected export area are refused.

Does XLSX formatting survive as CSV?

No. CSV contains text values without workbook styling.

Why can a CSV value gain a prefix?

Formula-like values receive a text prefix to reduce spreadsheet formula execution.
