How to use Image and Handwriting OCR
- Choose one upright PNG, JPEG or WebP with readable text and select Printed text, Handwriting or Mixed text.
- Add Context only when it helps interpret visible characters. Select Read image text and complete browser verification when prompted.
- Compare the transcription and Uncertain readings with the source image. Keep [illegible] where a character cannot be verified instead of filling it from context.
- Correct the transcription under Review and edit locally, then copy it or select Download edited TXT. Local corrections do not replace the original AI result or its server downloads.
Example: Image and Handwriting OCR
Read a short printed meeting note.
Options

Supported inputs and limits
- One PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 5 MiB and 12 megapixels.
- Transcriptions allow 12,000 characters.
- This is a review draft, not verified transcription.
- Handwriting, names, decimal points, columns and poor contrast can produce errors.
- Layout and spacing may change; no handwriting accuracy guarantee is made.
Where your input is processed
Your input is uploaded to this site and sent to a configured AI provider. If a provider fails, the request may be sent to the next eligible provider. Check its result before use. Private inputs and results expire within one hour and are excluded from site backups; temporary files are removed by scheduled cleanup. Provider retention rules may differ. Avoid submitting passwords or highly sensitive information.
Check numbers before prose
Review dates, prices, phone numbers and reference codes first because one wrong character can change their meaning. Compare line endings and repeated words next, then read the transcription as a whole. If a passage is too blurred to verify, keep an uncertainty marker or capture a clearer image. Do not use a smooth-looking transcript as a substitute for checking the source.
Questions about Image and Handwriting OCR
Can it read handwriting?
It can attempt legible handwriting. Results vary and must be checked character by character. A missing uncertainty marker does not establish that a reading is correct.
Will it fix spelling or fill missing words?
The task is transcription. Missing or unreadable text should remain marked rather than being completed from context. Compare important words and numbers with the image.
Are corrections sent back to the AI provider?
No. The review box and edited download work locally. Starting another AI request requires a new explicit submission and verification.
